{a quick hello}

Mandalas are fun to color. Found the inspiration here.
 I just did a google image search for “mandala coloring page” and then copied the image to Microsoft Word, resized it and printed it out.
You can find all kinds of coloring pages that way.
I found this one ((I was in the mood for doing stripes instead of coloring) when I searched for “flowers coloring page”:

For supper tonight we will have:

Cajun salmon… orange.
Potatoes… white.
Salad with lettuce, broccoli, cucumber… green.
Dessert: lime jello with whipping cream, green fish candy for decorations… more green.

Some more green stuff found via google image search:

Got the idea for this craft here.
Just made our own versions of it.

I’m typing this in bed. I’ve been coughing for about a month now and it has taken a toll on my muscles. This morning I was getting out of bed and pulled my neck and shoulder muscles while turning off the humidifier. A bit later my lower back went out too. I literally can barely move. I bet I’d win the America’s funniest videos contest if someone had been here to videotape me trying to lie down on the bed. J

So don’t forget to be grateful for your muscles today and for the fact that you can move. Things we take for granted.

Who knew that you use so many muscles to cough.

{the tsunami in Japan & being prepared}

Most of us have been watching the news with worry and concern about the tsunami in Japan. Here is an article you don’t want to miss if you are worrying about the nuclear power plant and possible radiation leaks. At least there is one less thing to worry about.

Please also read these blog posts to find out how you can prepare your family in case there is an emergency in your area. Being prepared brings peace of mind in these sometimes turbulent times. It usually takes three days for aid to start coming in after a major disaster. That’s why everyone is encouraged to have a 72-hour emergency preparedness kit.

The church I belong to does amazing humanitarian work around the world and is known to be one of the first organizations to help when there is an emergency. Here is a link to our church’s humanitarian aid website. 100% of the money donated via our church goes to humanitarian aid. Some organizations take salaries and expenses out of the donation money first.

There are so many people who need our help. if everyone donated even $5 per month, it would produce a miracle.

{guess who's had easter on her mind already?}

i know, i know… easter is supposed to be all about bright spring colors or pastels. i can’t help it that these are more my colors.

this is all i came home with after a trip to a scrapbooking store. one good thing about liking the colors and style i do is that i save a lot of money.
you gotta go your own way even though it makes you a bit of a weirdo. J

{this week}

life is busy at the moment. tons of cleaning to do after neglecting it for couple of weeks due to illness.

that’s my excuse anyways and i’m sticking to it. where is the cleaning fairy when you need her?

i’m looking forward to a babyshower later this week. such a good excuse to go and peruse all the new baby stuff. J

a friend of mine is also doing a my favorite things party. ten of us will bring 10 favorite things and everyone gets each other’s favorites. i’m curious to see what everyone will bring.

i’m also working on my very first guest blog post. pretty exciting, or what? J

oh and did i mention how wonderful it is that we’ve had the longest, snowiest, coldest winter ever. we get teased with mild temperatures only to find ourselves in the middle of another cold front. it was minus 38C this morning and over minus 20C as we speak. not impressed to say the least. it’s march for goodness sake. where, oh where, art thou spring?
at least it’s sunny and there are no mosquitos. how’s that for being optimistic? J
